Compare to major brands..While finding a Wii system isn't out of the question this holiday season, getting your hands on component cables has been nearly impossible, with the connectors MIA at most retailers so far and occasionally sold out on Nintendo's own website. At times like these we must take matters into our own hands. We've made our own cables before but this time you'll have to follow the lead of the NFG forums, and MacGyver a connection together; since the composite cable included with the system doesn't have all the pins necessary, some clever modders have resorted to paper clip stand ins. We don't know how well this will work as a long term solution, but if you're waiting the long two weeks or so before the official cables hit store shelves this should definitely hit the spot. | | | Features: | |

wii componet cableJun 22, 2009
By Wii oldtyme player This cable does not seem to be sheilded, as I found out the other day when my wife was using the vacuum cleaner the screen went blank every time she came near the area I was in. I would have not even known that if she was not using it. Other than that the cable performs well and picture quality is good.
So just do not vacuum while using the wii.

By gmkr I could see a marked difference in picture quality on my HDTV with this cable. Both playing games and watching netflix movies on the WII!

Works perfectly.Aug 05, 2010
By Dustin Loftis Used this cable to connect a Wii to my HD TV.
Not much to say. The quality feels right, and the signal got through without issue. The cable works as advertised.

Excellent price and does the job right.May 24, 2011
By Doug Jones Having just the regular RCA connection to an HDTV just isn't good enough. You need component cables to bring the colors out and reduce the blurring of colors. This cable does the job and works perfectly for me. Now if you are trying to hook it up to both a TV and audio system the length of the individual cords past the splitter isn't very long. But since I run my surround sound through my TV its not an issue. I can't imagine paying $30 for the Nintendo branded cord at a retail store when this does the same job at a fraction of the price.

Wii component cableFeb 05, 2012
By Darth Santa Fe Plugged straight into my Wii and HDTV, and works perfectly! To get the full resolution from your Wii, you have to go into the Wii settings and change the resolution to EDTV/HDTV. This will give you much sharper and brighter 480p instead of the standard 480i. It may not sound like a big change, but trust me! It makes quite a difference!
