i brought the .97 one from baragain cell on amazon and the sync cable works just as good as them other ones for my 80g zune. I have no problems with it. So save your money and buy this one because it is much cheaper and just as good.

WHEN I first contemplated buying this item I was kind of skeptical because foor one I have never bought anything off of the internet, and two I didn't know anything about the company I was trying to purchase from(inspire). I must say I was wrong. The shipping which was standard was actually very fast(three days), and my product was very cheap, about $20 dollars less than the microsoft sync piece. So I would llke to thank inspire for there quality product, and tell anybody who is contemplating buying this product to buy it.

The cable charges the Zune just fine, but it cannot sync with the Zune software.
Looking at the pin configuration on the Zune side, most of the pins are missing in this cable (it has 8 pins total, whereas the official Zune cable has all 24). Looking around the Internet, I see that many pins are not needed and some only for specific reasons. However, pins 20 and 21 are listed as USB data + and -. These 2 pins are missing from this product.
If that is true and the missing pins are not just an anomaly with the cable I received, then this is false advertising. I will need to contact the company for further information. Be wary of this product.

The original USB cable that came with my Zune broke, so I bought this one seeing the good reviews.
I used it about once or twice a day, on average, and it broke after just a few weeks' use. The end that connects to the Zune itself basically fell apart. I put it back together successfully. After a few days, I noticed that the cabling was exposed at the base of the section I had just fixed. Since it was already broken, I was able to take it apart and reassemble it with the exposed wires replaced within the housing. That worked for a few days, then it just stopped syncing altogether. Threw it in the trash.
It didn't get 1 star because 1. it was cheap and 2. it actually did work... for a limited amount of time.
I was using it on a first generation Zune.
