Description:

So why's this remote and nunchuk combo set so much less than the Genuine Nintendo article? My grandparents taught me if a deal is too good to be true it probably is! ... Well, you're right, but let us plead our case here at Gator Crunch first. First off, these remotes do not cost nearly what is charged in retail stores to make. What is expensive is the research and development of such an accessory - This isn't like making your standard 6ft cord or a silicon cover for a cell phone. What Gator Crunch did was work closely with a manufacturer that already developed aftermarket wii remotes (Savings $10's of thousands of dollars right there), then revamped the entire thing to make it as top notch as is possible. Yeah, Nintendo has us beat on sheer reliability but we got pretty darn close! Other generic remotes out there use as low end of components as they can get away with - We use name brand quality components, like our wireless chip is made by well known and respected Broadcom. Where we did skimp a little, and you will notice a difference is on the vibration, this unit uses an off balanced motor available for a quarter of the cost. It does not have the exact same feel, but we found the savings worthwhile and what we could pass on to you. So what do you end up with? You end up with a remote that costs less than half of the price of the original, but performs, at least in our opinion 95% as well as the original. Its especially an ideal match for a 3rd and 4th remote that doesn't get used as often. Give us a try, save some money - You will be glad you did!

5Nearly identical to the OEM remotesApr 11, 2011
By E. Bowdish
I ordered two of these remote/nunchuck combo packs to supplement the two Nintendo brand Wii controllers I already had. After unwrapping them from their protective foam, I immediately had trouble discerning them from the OEM remotes. They are of the exact size and weight of the Nintendo remotes you are used to, except without the brand name. As far as their functionality goes, these remotes seem to be just as accurate as the originals, though one seems to register a tad bit too high on the pointing function; hardly an issue. Vibration and speaker quality are also decent on these remotes-- seemingly right on par with that of the Nintendo brand. The nunchuck joystick is also very tight and responsive.

One thing you'll want to keep in mind is that these remotes do not take advantage of the new MotionPlus technology, so if that is what you need, you'll need to pick up a MotionPlus attachment separately. But, if all you are looking for is a quick and inexpensive way to add more players to your Wii games, I highly recommend giving these a try.

5Amazing! Buy these!Jul 18, 2011
By H&R BLOCK CLIENT
These are absolutely incredible Wiimotes. Other than the fact that there is no Wii logo on them, there is literally no difference between these and the official Nintendo Wiimotes from what I can tell. These are very high quality and feel literally exactly like the real thing. Our Wii has had absolutely no problems recognizing them whatsoever, unlike every other third-party wiimote I've ever used.

This was one of the most satisfying purchases I've ever made online. I'm more than pleased and will be ordering more of them as soon as I can.

Edit: I've read that motion-plus doesn't work with these. Haven't tried it myself, but it's really not that big of a deal to me..especially at this price!

Seriously, if you need some Wiimotes, BUY THESE. You won't be sorry.

5So far, so goodJul 22, 2011

Both remotes seem to work great. I haven't had any problems so for the price it was a excellent purchase.
Yes, do not expect the fancy box but who needs to pay extra for a box that goes to the recycle bin.
I read several reviews before taking my decision. I diceded to take the 'rick' and payed off.

3IS JUST OK.Aug 06, 2011
By Dizzy Lizzy
At first they worked pretty good, the controls are good but one nunchuck stopped working after a couple of days and the other one is not working very well, is probably gonna stop working any minute now. To look at it the positive way it was like getting to controllers for the price of one but the nunchucks are no good. But what can you expect for the price, I mean they are really cheap compare to the original ones.

5Excellent ValueOct 05, 2011
By Wing Leung "Software Engineer"
Just want to comment on some of the issues raised by other reviewers. Hopefully, this will help you decide if this product is for you. Here are some of the issues that was raised and my response based on my own experiences using the Remote and Nunchuck:

1. "Sometimes it is hard to sync the remote with the base station." I have used the remote for about a month now, and I did not have any issues with sync'ing. BTW, you *DO* have to do the initial sync'ing. It is not hard -- just follow the instruction in the Nintendo Wii manual. This is my experience -- your mileage may vary.
2. "Speaker on the remote is extremely loud." This is true, but may not be a bad thing. I always thought the sound from the speaker on the remote was too soft.
3. "tracking/refresh issues". This has not happen on the one that I purchased (and used for a month now). Tracking, buttons, and all controls work as well as OEM remote and nunchuck.
4. "Eats batteries, batteries last less then a week" (spelling mistakes corrected by me.) I cannot confirm this. I use rechargeable batteries. I always put in freshly charged batteries before playing. Suggestion: use **RECHARGEABLE** batteries!!

That was the pro. Here are the con:
1. No manuals. You will need to pull out your Nintendo Wii manual to do the initial sync'ing. You do have it right?
2. The plug on the nunchuck does not fit perfectly into the remote (with a click). However, it does fit snugly. It just doesn't go all the way in.

The Remote and Nunchuck Controller are not perfect, but given the price and how well they work I wound definitely buy again.
