 Bad Choice for a couple of MiniSpeakers LASTED THREE DAY - but great soundJun 06, 2011

First of all, I've just bought a couple of this capsules. They worked fine for 72hours. Then the problem began. The sound stops, then i needed to push the membrane in order to get dirty sounds and so on... Deeply Sad
The sound is very impressive for something this size and price,
I'm going to buy an X-mini II and try to hook the two up for checking best sound.
The Lid is totally useless, and the aux cord is kind short.
Hopefully at that point I will be able to buy better products made by xmini.

This is great for carrying in a pocket for use with a smartphone; the cover protects the speaker, and keeps dust and lint out. However, the sound is not quite as good as the X-Mini II Capsule Speaker, which we also own.
We also purchased, and highly recommend, the Monster iCable 800 Cord (3 Feet). This cable is a little expensive, like most Monster products, but is well made; the jacks fit perfectly and the cable is securely attached.
Two suggestions, first a redesign that would allow the cover to open past 90 degrees, so as to better reflect the sound upward. Second, change the USB connector from Mini-B to Micro-B.

I got this speaker yesterday and I am impressed. This product is great. Sound quality for its weight is amazing.
Today we were listening music with my friends through my regular "Genius" table speakers and I have suddenly changed them to this capsule speaker. When I showed them this speaker the y couldn't believe me that it is real. They were amazed.
I will buy one more for my wife.

EDIT: At first, I thought the speaker had died after only two days. I had thought that the speaker charged through the headphone jack. As I went to put the speaker back in its package to return it, I found a USB cable and used that to connect the speaker to my laptop. As it turns out, the speaker works great--it was shipped charged but the battery died, and I hadn't known how to recharge it. I wonder if that might not have been the problem experienced by other users who complain that the speaker died after a day or two.
The speaker works well. It's mono (as advertised), but it's still a significant improvement over my 5-yr-old laptop's built in speakers.
NOTE: If you don't open the cap on the top of the speaker, the sound quality is crap. With the cap opened, the sound quality is pretty impressive for something so small and portable. It's a keeper in my book.

I bought two of these thinking one certainly wouldn't be enough and thankfully only got one out of the package. I received them in the mail last night and let the one charge, I was so impressed! I cannot wrap my brain around how much sound comes out of this little bitty speaker! I had to actually turn it down because it was too loud, and I'm a "if it's too loud, you're too old" kinda girl! Cannot say enough about how great these little guys are! Oh, I'm saving the other one for a birthday gift later! Double win!! :)
